september was ushered in with terren turning 8 and getting her ears pierced, and ushered out with mom receiving a call from school. does every parent dread that call?
this is how this voicemail went: "Hi, this is Andrea from Yu Ming. We're not sure what happened but Terren's shoe is on the roof. Brian can't go up to get it because it's on the awning. They can't get to it because it's unsafe. If you want her to have shoes to wear around school, can you bring her a pair?"

september was full of birthday celebrations of 8 year olds (Terren!), 4 year olds (Wes!), 40 year olds (Jason!), 50 year olds (Vincenzo!), and 14 year olds (Isa!). and the month was full of wonderful meals and hang outs with friends - ethan and jane, the moore's, the nelsons, bump and jack, duffy and carlos, jamila, jeff and nao, and cyrkler. how lucky we are to enjoy such company.
