Middle school transition

Terren chose and started middle school just 3 blocks from our house. Crowden is a “chamber music school.” This means that all students play a string instrument or the piano, and each day begins with 2 hours of classical music. As with big changes, Terren is tackling it with energy and courage. The academics, particularly the English, are on a level she has never seen. Aver? Charnel? Hoar? Perfidy? Her parents didn't even know what these vocabulary words meant. After a 74 on her first vocal test, she has learned to make flashcards.

The best unintentionality of this choice is mom and dad (if he is around) get to walk hand in hand with both girls to school each day. We drop off Terren at school and then mm’s carpool house is less than a block from Crowden. It is one of the most precious parts of the day.
