First sister's trip to the Great White North

Some people may have thought this was a scouting trip for a new home in the event of a Trump election victory, but in fact it was our first visit to our old San Francisco/New Canadian friends - Arman, Julia, Naveed, and Simone. We hiked in the great outdoors over Lynn Suspension Bridge over Lynn Canyon, ate some awesome dim sum, climbed their amazing custom treehouse, and played soccer in their friend's Turkey Day tournament. The girls loved reuniting with Naveed and Simone.

Another pivotal event in October involved hills in the great outdoors, but not nearly as fun. Justin was biking to work at 5:30am in the dark, going 33mph down a steep straightaway on abandoned roads when 2 raccoons felt he was going too fast and ran out to tell him to slow down. The 1st raccoon ran by, but the second was particulaly dedicated and decided to sacrifice his body for the cause, taking out Justin's front wheel and sending him to the ground pretty violently. Most of the force was taken by his generously-padded buttocks and his well-constructed expensive bike helmet, and his speed was mostly burned off through friction tearing apart his backpack.…Long story short, the raccoon didn't give his body for nothing. Justin not only slowed down the rest of that painful ride to work, but his broken pelvis slowed him and the family down for months. We are grateful that (and his helmet) was all that was broken.
