10th Birthday with Oma and Opa

Oma and Opa have their own tradition that for each grandchild's 10th birthday, they take them on a trip anywhere in the continental US. This year was Terren’s turn.

Terren’s choice was to see the Grand Canyon, via Vegas on the way. Not as easy as a trip to a big city, but Oma and Opa were up for the challenge. After flying to San Francisco to pick her up, they took her on her inaugural (don’t get used to it, kid) first class flight to Las Vegas, and then drove 4 hours to the south rim and a hotel overlooking the canyon.

After 2 days of hiking, a front-seat helicopter tour, eating a lot of complementary hotel bedside mint chocolates and sharing Opa’s Ike and Mike's, they trekked back to Las Vegas by way of the Hoover Dam to stay at the Bellagio. They treated T to a hotel view and dinner right next to her favorite enormous water fountain show, and then got front balcony, center seats for the Cirque du Soleil water show, “O.” Somehow it didn’t surprise us that Terren chose to see the extremes of humanity.

Oma and Opa made it out with flying colors; nobody besides Mom and Dad have ever had the challenge of 4 days straight of Terren’s laser focus. Thank you, Oma and Oma, for an amazing trip!!
