Tales
fun with oma and opa
June for many is full-on summer, but for us it is really just barely getting started. The girls’ school goes right until the middle of June, eventually starting to slow down with early dismissals, gratuitous graduations, mediocre mandatory group end-of-year performances, and chaotic field days.
Oma and Opa managed to complete a senior-citizen travel triathlon, with their final leg ending at our orange door on Cedar street. They didn’t just rest at the hotel, however, they came straight from their early morning flight to a rental car to a 90 minute drive to the heat of Concord for to cheer on Terren in her first “long course” (50 yd pool) swim meet. Swim meets, for the uninitiated, allow for the demonstration of pure acts of love on the part of the spectators. 6 hours of sitting in camp chairs near the pool, interrupted a few times by 90 seconds of cheering for someone with her head in the water who can’t see or hear you. Oma and Opa nailed it on their first try. Thanks for a great visit.
