Little flipper

So Terren has been doing gymnastics for about 7 years now. It started with signs of greatness: the only 2 year old who would walk on the balance beam without holding their parent’s hand. If you don’t recall, let’s go to the archives: (watch to the end, whic is the best part)

Ok, while that didn’t start so great, Terren didn’t give up. After months of practicing with the entry-level competitive gymnastics team at UC Berkeley, Terren got to compete in her first meet. It was enlightening for Terren, when she learned that there IS a reason that her teachers (and mom) have been telling her for years to straighten her arms and legs and point your toes. It turns out that you score better if you put some effort into the presentation. It was also enlightening for mama and baba, who learned that if you slice the competitors into small enough groups by age, it seems like everybody gets a medal for some place. We’re glad Po Po and Ye Ye were there to watch Terren's first gym meet and her first medals. We’re still debating which games/meets are the worst between gymnastics, swimming, and soccer.

Some other good times for the month included hanging with Ironmom through radiation, brunch with Eric and Suzanne, dinner with the Moores, Jasper’s 6th bowling birthday party, Kaiser holiday party, Jane’s baby shower, and lots of trips to Rossmoor for PoPo’s home cooking.
